Simple and Affordable Winter Skin Care Routine

Viv

Updated: Jan 3, 2023

Winter in the Northeast can be tough. It can be especially rough on 40 something aging skin. It is important to hydrate your body by drinking lots of water to counteract the dry indoor air. It is also important to keep the skin on your face moisturized. Below are some of the products that I have found have worked for my skin this season. Some of the recommendations I came upon from YouTuber and Tik Tokker, Hyram.

Cleanse and Moisturize

To cleanse my skin, I'm currently using Cerave Hydrating cleanser which contains ceramides and hyaluronic acid. I purchased my cleanser from Target but you can find it in most pharmacies, department stores and Amazon. I earn a commission from through my Amazon Affiliate link. ( I am not an affiliate of Target or Old Navy).

To hydrate my skin at night, I also use the Cerave PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion, which is lightweight and can be layered with other serums.

Treat and Target Skin

In order to keep my skin soft and dewy, I have been using Rooted Beauty R7 Complex Facial Oil by Grove Collaborative. This facial oil easily absorbs into my skin and doesn't leave my face feeling greasy. I'm on my second bottle. To say that I love this facial oil is an understatement.

Please don't forget your lips ladies!!!! It is extremely important to keep them supple and smooth.

To combat chapped lips in winter I use Young Livings Savvy Lip Luxe. ( This is a link to my Young Living link. I also love Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips Tin .

Keep It Simple

As you can see, I like to keep my evening skin care routine pretty simple. The more you complicate your routine with lotions, serums and extra stuff , the less likely I'll stick with a daily routine. These products are so simple and affordable.
